General & Technical FAQs

Under Part 4 of the National Building Code (NBC 2026), all residential apartment towers exceeding 15 meters in height, all commercial complexes/malls (regardless of height), all hospitals and nursing homes, all schools/colleges with occupancy > 500 students, and all hazardous industrial units must hold a valid Fire NOC.
Fire NOCs are valid for 1 year for commercial/industrial/hospital buildings and 3 years for residential apartment societies. Renewal applications must be submitted on the NBFSA Building Registration Portal at least 60 days before expiration along with the annual maintenance certificate of fire pumps.
