Under the Service Delivery Charter, all safety inspections must be concluded within 14 working days from application submission.
Stage 1: Online Application & Document Upload
Applicant submits architectural CAD drawings, structural stability calculations by CoA-registered engineer, and fire layout drawings via the NBFSA Portal.
Stage 2: Digital Scrutiny & Officer Assignment (Days 1–3)
Algorithmic scrutiny checks for setback clearances, exit capacities, and seismic parameters. A District Safety Inspection Officer (DSIO) is assigned automatically.
Stage 3: On-Site Physical Inspection & Functional Testing (Days 4–8)
Inspection team visits site with calibrated pressure gauges, ultrasonic concrete testers, and smoke sensors. Live hydrant pressure tests and pump auto-start tests are executed.
Stage 4: Compliance Report / Rectification Notice (Days 9–11)
If any non-compliance is observed (e.g. blocked staircase or malfunctioning booster pump), a 15-day Rectification Notice is dispatched.
Stage 5: Issuance of Digital Certificate & Public Registry Entry (Days 12–14)
Upon successful verification, the digitally signed Fire NOC / Structural Certificate is generated with a unique QR code and listed on the national public registry.
